Obermueller Leading Kline In House Majority PAC Post-Shutdown Poll

October 24, 2013

Washington, D.C. – Brand new polling conducted for House Majority PAC shows just how high a price Rep. John Kline is paying for shutting down the government and driving the U.S. towards economic devastation.

In the new House Majority PAC poll, Democrat Mike Obermueller is leading Republican John Kline 42 percent to 38 percent. This new poll also shows Kline dramatically underwater on both his favorability (32 percent favorable, 42 percent unfavorable) and job approval (31 percent approval, 40 percent disapproval) ratings.

Obermueller’s dramatic improvement in this poll compared to House Majority PAC’s last in this race, which was conducted in the summer well before the GOP government shutdown impasse, underscores Rep. Kline’s substantial vulnerabilities.

The results from Public Policy Polling, who conducted the poll for House Majority PAC, are available here. The poll has a margin of error of 3.4 percent.

“John Kline shut down the government, wasting $24 billion, and drove our nation towards economic devastation, and voters in Minnesota are understandably holding him accountable,” said Andy Stone, Communications Director for House Majority PAC. “The numbers don’t lie and John Kline is paying a serious price for his reckless shutdown scheme.”
