Poliquin Misleading Mainers on Healthcare Stance
July 25, 2017
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Bruce Poliquin (ME-02) put out a statement promising to vote against a full repeal of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Unfortunately, you can’t take him at his word, Congressman Poliuqin has voted for repeal in the past and misled Mainers about the AHCA’s impacts. In May, he made the unforgivable decision to vote for the disastrous American Health Care Act (AHCA), which would strip healthcare coverage for more than 60,000 people in his district.
“Congressman Bruce Poliquin is drawing fake lines in the sand to distract his constituents from the real problem, he already took the unforgivable AHCA vote,” said Jeb Fain, Senior Communications Advisor for House Majority PAC. “This bill will only hurt hardworking Mainers, and yet, the Congressman continues to duck and mislead his constituents about the real impacts of his vote. On health care, Congressman Poliquin has found every opportunity to throw his constituents under the bus, and instead favor the wealthy and special interests by voting for and adamantly supporting the AHCA.”
