Rep. Mike Coffman Doubles Down On Government Shutdown

September 29, 2013

Washington, D.C. – After voting last week to put the nation on a shutdown path, today Rep. Mike Coffman voted to seal the deal, moving the nation ever closer to a disastrous government shutdown.

Rather than adopt a reasonable, bipartisan solution that would keep the federal government open and operating, paychecks going to members of the military and 1.2 million employees on the job, Rep. Coffman chose the most extreme, catastrophic and ruinous course possible.

“Rep. Mike Coffman’s vote to shut down the government is crazy, shameful and reckless,” said Andy Stone, Communications Director for House Majority PAC. “Instead of serving the people of Colorado, Coffman opted to pledge allegiance to the Tea Party, throw caution to the wind and hurtle the United States towards a devastating shutdown.”

Mike Coffman is a top target of House Majority PAC, the Democratic super PAC focused on House races.
