Rep. Rodney Davis Embraces Extreme Ted Cruz-Steve King Approach On Defunding Obamacare

Washington, D.C. – It’s clear that as much as vulnerable Rep. Rodney Davis tries to burnish his sensibly moderate credentials, he’s just papering over the truth. The latest example? Davis has embraced the right-wing Ted Cruz-Steve King approach in calling for defunding Obamacare. In two recent interviews – one on WICS-TV and one on WMAY-AM yesterday – Davis argued repeatedly for defunding Obamacare, just as Ted Cruz, Jim DeMint and Steve King have done. 

In fact, Davis is so extreme that he continues his defund demand as the defund movement is increasingly falling on deaf ears in Washington. As NBC News noted yesterday, the “call to defund President Obama’s health-care law has gone … nowhere.”

“Rodney Davis may pretend to be a moderate, but now that he’s firmly in the Ted Cruz-Steve King camp, his extreme true colors are shining through,” said Andy Stone, Communications Director for House Majority PAC.
