Two-Day Mobile Billboard Tour of Southern CA

August 15, 2017

Southern California — House Majority PAC launched a two-day mobile billboard tour across five districts holding Republican Representatives accountable for their disastrous healthcare vote. Congressman Ed Royce (CA-39), Congresswoman Mimi Walters (CA-45), Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (CA-48), and Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-49) all voted for the American Health Care Act (AHCA), which would impose a devastating “Age Tax” on older Americans.

To kick off the two-day tour, HMP’s mobile billboard attended a rally held by activists and local community groups, including CA 25 United for Progress outside Congressman Steve Knight’s office. Then on day two, the mobile billboard attended the weekly rally outside Congressman Darrell Issa’s Vista office.

The ad targeted these Members of Congress for their unforgiveable healthcare vote, specifically because it would impose an “Age Tax” on people over 50 who would see their premiums increase to up to five times more than younger people.

“Over two days, we’ve been across Southern California making sure voters in CA-25, CA-39, CA-45, CA-48 and CA-49 know that their Member of Congress betrayed them by voting for the disastrous AHCA,” said House Majority PAC Executive Director Charlie Kelly. “They blindly followed Trump’s extreme agenda, and voted for a devastating “Age Tax” that penalizes older Americans. These constituents deserve representation that puts their interests ahead of the wealthy and insurance companies.”
