TX-23: New HMP Ad Holds Hurd Accountable for Failure to Stand Up to Ticket-Mate Trump

October 14, 2016

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Majority PAC released its first ad of the 2016 cycle in TX-23. “Makes Sense” holds Republican Congressman Will Hurd accountable for his long-standing failing to stand up to his ticket-mate Donald Trump. The spot also takes Hurd to task for further putting party first in Washington by voting to underfund veterans’ programs.

“Congressman Hurd had a lot of chances to stand up to Trump, and he failed big-time,” said House Majority PAC Communications Director Jeb Fain. “As Donald Trump continued to demean Latinos, POW’s, a gold star family, women and countless other Americans – as he based his campaign on building a wall with Mexico – Will Hurd stood by – even leaving the door open to voting for Trump. From saying a border ‘wall absolutely makes sense’ to underfunding critical veterans’ programs, Hurd has repeatedly put party politics first.”

The ad is airing on TV in the San Antonio media market as part of a reservation totaling approximately $1.3 million.
