Will Mike Coffman Welcome Fellow Personhood-Backer, Stem Cell-Opposer Ken Buck Into Colorado Senate Race?
August 8, 2013
Washington, D.C. – Vulnerable Rep. Mike Coffman will undoubtedly stand today with arms outstretched to welcome extremist, Tea Party favorite – and 2010 retread – Ken Buck into the Colorado Senate race.
After all, both Coffman and Buck have supported a personhood amendment in Colorado, which not only would have banned abortion in cases of rape and incest, but also could have made most common forms of birth control illegal. Coffman and Buck have also both expressed opposition to embryonic stem cell research and the type of treatments for debilitating illnesses this technology could offer.
“Mike Coffman and Ken Buck are two ideological peas in an extremist, Tea Party pod,” said Andy Stone, Communications Director for House Majority PAC. “After all, both Coffman and Buck have shown themselves to be dangerously out of touch with Coloradans in supporting a personhood amendment to ban abortion even in the case of rape and incest and opposing the promise of treatment for previously untreatable diseases potentially offered by embryonic stem cell research.”
Mike Coffman is one of House Majority PAC’s top targets. House Majority PAC recently aired a Spanish-language TV spot hitting Coffman on immigration reform.
