Will Mike Fitzpatrick Join The House Republican Push For A Government Shutdown?

September 18, 2013

Washington, D.C. – This morning, House Speaker John Boehner confirmed that Republicans are cheerleading a government shutdown. House Republicans’ caved to the Tea Party’s my-way-or-the-highway approach on defunding Obamacare, putting the country on a path to a government shutdown at the end of the month.

The only question now: Is Mike Fitzpatrick on board with the House Republican plan – termed yesterday a “Kamikaze mission” by no less a conservative house organ than the Wall Street Journal – that could lead to a government shutdown unless they get their way?

“House Republicans have turned over the keys to the kingdom to the intransigent Tea Party that’s gunning for a government shutdown,” said Andy Stone, Communications Director for House Majority PAC. “The Tea Party’s my-way-or-the-highway shutdown drive is now the official position of the House Republican conference. The question remains, will Mike Fitzpatrick endorse a plan that will either shut down the government or put insurance companies in control of health care decisions?”

Mike Fitzpatrick is a top target of House Majority PAC, the Democratic super PAC focused on House races.
