Will Rodney Davis Embrace Extreme GOP Hypocrisy On DREAM Act?

July 23, 2013

Washington, D.C. – Today a House Judiciary Subcommittee is set to consider a bill designed by Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte that reportedly provides a path to citizenship for immigrants brought here as children.

This, just weeks after Rodney Davis joined with anti-immigrant zealot Steve King and nearly the entire House Republican Conference to deport those very same young people.

“Rodney Davis and House Republicans voted just last month to deport DREAMers, young people brought to the United States as children through no fault of their own. And now, just 47 days later, Republicans are doing a complete 180-degree turn,” said Andy Stone. “That kind of hasty flip-flop would give anyone whiplash and Illinoisans deserve more from Rodney Davis than this kind of unabashed hypocrisy.”
