WOMEN VOTE!, HMP, and Priorities USA Action Announce Digital Campaign in IL-14

October 12, 2018

Washington, DC – Today, EMILY’s List’s independent expenditure operation, WOMEN VOTE!, was joined by House Majority PAC and Priorities USA Action for digital investments in the race for Illinois’ 14th Congressional District totaling approximately $370,000 combined.

Alongside WOMEN VOTE!’s already ongoing large-scale digital advertising in the district, the effort will include an expansion of House Majority PAC’s and Priorities USA Action’s nationwide digital program into IL-14, with a new ad beginning today titled “Stop.” Additionally, House Majority PAC is also currently running advertising on TV in the district backed with a nearly $900,000 cable buy.  WOMEN VOTE! is running a seven piece direct mail program to women voters in the district.

“We’re proud to be standing with Lauren Underwood because we know she has what it takes to win this competitive race and flip this seat,” said Christina Reynolds, vice president of communications at EMILY’s List and spokesperson for WOMEN VOTE!. “It’s exciting to be teaming up with Priorities USA and House Majority PAC to help bring this race across the finish line by informing voters of Lauren’s exceptional qualifications and Randy Hultgren’s significant flaws. Lauren has strong grassroots support and will be an excellent future congresswoman.”

“Lauren Underwood is energizing voters across Illinois’ 14th Congressional District and has put this once long-shot race on the map for Democrats,” said House Majority PAC Executive Director Charlie Kelly. “We’re proud to be working with Priorities USA Action and WOMEN VOTE! to make sure voters have the facts about Randy Hultgren and his disastrous record on health care. On the most important issues facing hardworking Illinois families, the choice in this election couldn’t be clearer, and Illinois can’t afford another two years of Randy Hultgren in Congress.”

“With less than a month to go, Lauren Underwood has made this a competitive race and an important place to invest as we work to win back the House,” said Priorities USA Action Executive Director Patrick McHugh. “Digital ads are an important component of the effort to reach voters where they are and let them know the stark contrast in this race between Underwood and Rep. Hultgren, and we’re pleased to be partnering with HMP and WOMEN VOTE! to help Underwood over the finish line.”
